I am doctoral candidate at the University of Texas at Dallas Electrical and Computer Engineering department, and a member of the Multimodal Signal Processing Group (MSP). My PhD research focusses on developing deep learning algorithms for affective computing. My adviser is Prof. Carlos Busso.

Prior to UTD I was a Masters student in the Electrical Engineering department at University of Southern California. I worked with Prof. Keith Jenkins, Prof. Bart Kosko and Prof. Greg Ver Steeg during my times at USC. I worked on some very interesting projects related to sleep apnea and redundancy augmented regression at USC. Prior to that, I did my Bachelors in Engineering from PES University in Bangalore, Karantaka, India. I worked with Prof. Sambasiva Rao at the CORI research lab. My bachelors thesis was on developing a PSK/PM modem for satellite communication system which was later deployed onto PISAT, the first student satellite to be launched in collboration with ISRO.

In addition to my huge interest in academics, I am a national level swimmer and fitness enthusiast.
